Each dental patient has different needs. We will discuss the benefits of the various cosmetic dentistry options available to you. The complexity of your case will play a role in the treatment plan and results of your smile make-over.
Your teeth will need to be "prepared" for the veneers. This is a process that involves buffing down some of the tooth enamel and, in some cases, reshaping the tooth. Your dental veneers will be custom-created to fit perfectly over your prepared teeth. To protect your teeth while the porcelain veneers are being made, you will need to wear temporary veneers until your custom restoration is complete.
We will take an impression of your teeth and create a replica of your teeth known as a "wax-up." This diagnostic wax-up is then used to create both temporary and permanent veneers. Note that patients in need of a single dental veneer do not usually need to go through the wax-up process.
Once your permanent porcelain veneers arrive at our office, we will remove the temporary ones and place your new veneers on your teeth using a permanent bond.
